The talent of Licking R-VIII students was on display last Thursday, at the Sherman Hill Field House. An End-of-Semester Art Show allowed each artist to select an artwork completed in the second semester to share with the public and parents. Artwork from the 2024 Frisco League Art Competition was also on display.

Mediums included the more traditional drawings and paintings to the multi-dimensional ceramic, textile and Paper Mache completed by the Art 1, Art 2, Ceramics and Mixed Media classes. The range, interests, artistic abilities and creative gifts present at Licking R-VIII were showcased.

A large “Flower Wall” collaboration done by all art classes combined the talent and creativity, from the simple to the more intricate, in the visual art display. Third and sixth hours Art 1 classes also collaborated on a fun 3-Dimensional Free-Form Paper Sculpture.

Leah Sullins, Licking High School Art Teacher, rightly conveyed her excitement with the talent represented, as well as the pleasure of seeing a student learn or discover a new outlet for their creativity.

Visitors were delighted to complete a complimentary note for the Compliment Box allowing them to convey their appreciation for the individual artists’ work.
