Monday, February 10, marked the opening of a veterinary service in Licking. The City of Licking awarded Williams Family Veterinary with a conditional use permit to open a veterinary clinic inside the city limits on January 24. Currently with locations in Mountain Grove and Ava, Williams Family Veterinary has begun operations at the Ed Green Realty Building just off Highway 63 on the north end of Licking.
Dr. Logan Williams and Dr. Beckie Williams provide veterinary services at their clinics. Dr. Logan Williams owns the business and treats large animals, small animals and exotics. Dr. Beckie Williams primarily treats small animals. It’s a family operated business – Dr. Logan’s sister, McKenzie, manages the Mountain Grove and Licking office, and their mother, Bridget Williams, is described by McKenzie as “doing it all,” from management to tech services and more at the Mountain Grove clinic. Dr. Beckie Williams, though she shares the surname, is actually not related to the other Williamses, but they are glad to have her as part of their team.
At the Licking office, you are likely to see Allyssa Ruckman, Shirley Wilson or McKenzie Williams through the week, with Dr. Logan Williams on hand once a week. The staff can provide vaccinations and nail trims and vet supplies and specialized foods can be requested as well. As the clinic is remodeled to fit their needs, they will expand their services.
Dr. Logan Williams hopes to close on the property in the next six months, and plans to create a full-service veterinary clinic there for large and small animals. Spays, neuters, vaccination clinics, x-rays, dental care, exploratory surgeries, injuries, nail trims and more will be handled at that time.
Dr. Logan is a graduate of the veterinary program at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His veterinary service has customers from Gainesville to Salem. In addition to spending time at the Mountain Grove Clinic and now the Licking Clinic, he does house/farm calls, has Williams Supply Outpost in Ava, and is the vet for the Gainesville Sale Barn.

They are currently accepting appointments for March 13, when Dr. Logan Williams will be at the clinic.
