GOSPEL SINGING

The Ernie and Jason Couch Revival will be at Anutt Community Church at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 28 (weather permitting). All are invited to attend.

FFA COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

The Licking FFA Chapter will host a community breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1. All are welcome to attend.

MRFD CHILI & HOT DOG SUPPER

The Montauk Rural Fire Department will host their annual Chili and Hotdog dinner and raffle from 5 – 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Montauk Firehouse, 2742 Hwy 119, Salem.

ASH WEDNESDAY MASS

On Ash Wednesday, March 5, all are invited to join at any of the Catholic Churches in the area. Mass times are 7 – 8 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist in Houston, 4 p.m. at St. Michael’s in Cabool, and 6 p.m. at St. John the Baptist in Licking. Please join us as we reflect on being more like Christ through the Lenten season as we prepare for the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday.

LICKING DOWNTOWN ANNUAL FISH FRY & AUCTION NEW DATE

The annual fish fry and auction fundraiser for the Historic Licking Mill has been postponed to Saturday, March 8, at the Licking VFW Hall. Music by Herman Hall and a fish dinner with all the fixin’s will take place from 4 – 6 p.m., auction at 6 p.m. Now accepting donations for the auction at TJ’s Flowers & Gifts.

NSDAR MARCH MEETING

The Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to hold their March meeting at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 15, at Sybill’s in St. James. The featured speaker will be Linda Dunbar, on “Myth or Truth, Common Myths Heard in Museums.” Call 573-259-2102 for more information. Guests are always welcome.

2025 TEXAS COUNTY FAIR DATES SET

Texas County Livestock Fair Beef Weigh-in will be March 16, and Sheep, Goat, Hog and Replacement Heifer Weigh-in will be April 13. The fair will be held July 8-12, with the Livestock Auction on Saturday, July 12, at 2 p.m.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 is holding a Gun, Quilt and Large Ceramic Planter Raffle. The raffles are in support of college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417-967-0661.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

KIDS AT THE CREEK

The Kids at the Creek Program at Boone Creek Baptist Church meets every Wednesday that school is in session, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a light dinner, Bible study, crafts and music.

KIDZ CLUB/ YOUTH GROUP

First Baptist Church Kidz Club, ages 4 years through 6th grade, will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 223 Main Street, and will be served a meal. If your child needs a ride, contact the church at 573-674-3141.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION

Sons of the American Legion (SAL) will meet the first Thursday of each month at the Licking VFW Hall. Meet and greet begins at 4 p.m., with the meeting from 6 – 7 p.m.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is March 6.

Boone Township meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Meeting is at the Township Shed, 16245 Highway AF, Licking.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston. Licking Bridge Builders has transportation available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ride the bus, please make your appointment at least a day in advance by calling 573-674-3558 and talking with a volunteer.
